that was an israeli sailor. they are big stupids. they think if they make
mistake it is other person fault and everyone must make rescue to them
immediately. I see him and he know is boat is drifting without power but
instead to raise the sail and heave to or drop anchor fast he decide to
play with motor for 30 mins. Then he make the “may day” call. This not “may
day” call this “pan pan” call maximum.

Hi, Thanks for your comments, Ibis is a Dufour 48, built in 1996. She loves
the Caribbean winds and regularly hits over 8 knots.

Sweet! I flew a Cessna 182 to Haiti and saw these waters and islands from
low altitude, stopping at Stella Maris on Long Island for one night, back
in 1973, when they would let someone rent a plane and fly it to Haiti (med
mission trip). Sailing like this would have been even more fun, and less
worrisome, since there were two places where we could not glide to land,
and would have had to ditch! Winding between storms was exciting, too, but
not relaxing. Enjoy many happy miles.

doesn’t need any music. Just the sound of wind on the sails will do.
